{Christine Larsen}
I'm a Southern California native who grew up in West Covina. I moved up to Northern California in '95 to attend college and graduated from Sonoma State University with a B.S. in Environmental Studies. Although I'll always miss the warm beaches in S. Cal, I love the natural beauty, open spaces, and fresh air of N. Cal.
I have memories of traveling as a teen all over the U.S and my Dad taking photographs. He took a long time setting up the camera to take photographs of my Mom and me. He taught me that the composition and exposure have to be just right. Fast forward to the present, my father and I share this enthusiasm for photography.
In college I took Natural History of California courses and fell in love with nature. Many of my courses required extensive cataloging of plants, flowers, and rocks. One way we cataloged was by taking photographs.
I became interested in taking photos of people when my twins were born in 2004. After Carissa & Maia were born, I resigned from UCSF to be a full time Mom. It was fun and entertaining to take photos of them all day, every day (by the way...I still do). Before long, friends, family, and others began hiring me to take portraits of them. I LOVE taking portraits of children the most. There's something about capturing their cute expressions and carefree spirit that puts a smile in my heart.
